Exhibiting in our Space
The Gallery supports artists & creators from across the Saltwater Freshwater region on the Mid North Coast of NSW. The Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance footprint includes 10 Land Councils from the Worimi, Biripi, Dunghutti and Gumbaynggirr nations.
To be eligible to exhibit or sell products in The Gallery artists must identify and be accepted in the community as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
An important step of our process is to connect with Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC). SWFW is required to contact the local land council that artists have noted in their Expression of Interest (EOI). We do this to ensure artists are known by the community in which they reside, using local land councils as our guide.
If you are a member of a Local Aboriginal Land Council other than the one you are living nearest to please let us know and we will contact them. If you are not a member of a LALC could you please attach your confirmation of Aboriginality.
We invite artists and cultural practitioners that identify as from the SWFW footprint; Worimi, Biripi, Dunghutti and Gumbaynggirr to exhibit in The Gallery. The EOI also extends to First Nations artists from outside the alliance partners 10 land councils but who are living on one of the four nations.
The process:
- Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through our website
- Discuss submission with gallery staff
- SWFW will contact the local land council that artists have noted in their EOI. We do this to ensure artists are known by the community in which they reside, using local land councils as our guide.
