The Fire in Me

This artwork represents the fire inside, the visual representation of the energy of the fire inside, internal and intergenerational anger and pain. The centre focus is the internal fire within and the outer pieces showcase our fire country. The changing colours of the leaves and connections of fire wisdom shared between neighbouring nations. When directed, fire can burn and reveal new growth & internally when directed can harbour rebirth. This artwork tells the story of the interactions and interrelations of self as a piece of the land.

Proud Gumbaynggirr woman, our family are the proud Traditional custodians of the Bellingen valley on Gumbaynggirr land, where my family still live on country in the same lands at Yellow rock Urunga. My bloodlines extending from Gumbaynggirr country, through to Anaiwan country and right across the seas to Ireland and Wales. I proudly walk with the spirit of my Mothers and Grandmothers before me, first born daughter and granddaughter of my line, extremely proud mother to four children, loved wife and a full time creative being looking to express myself creatively in every aspect at I possibly can.
