For tens of thousands of years, First Nations People have lived in the bush. They look after Country like it's family, and in return, Country looks after them.
In Ask Aunty: Bush Survival Skills, Bardi Elder Aunty Munya shares the things you need to survive in the bush: water, food and shelter. The spirit ancestors taught Bardi people how to care for Country. The people learned the names for the tides and how to follow ocean currents and animal tracks. They learned which plants could be eaten or used for medicine, and most importantly, to only take what they need, and nothing more.
