Family Connection to Country
Family Connection to Country
Family Connection to Country is a cultural expression of kinship, belonging, and the unbroken bond between family and land. The circular forms represent the connections we share with each other across generations—our mothers, grandmothers, aunties, fathers, grandfathers, brothers, and uncles—and how these relationships are anchored in Country.
The flowing lines symbolise the journeys our families have walked—together, apart, and reunited—and the paths carved by our ancestors to keep culture alive. Emu feathers surround the piece, offering spiritual protection and reminding us that our old people walk with us, guiding us to remember who we are.
This artwork is a celebration of family, identity, and cultural survival. It speaks to the power of connection and the healing that comes from standing strong in our stories.
