My Forefathers before me created many masks for many different reasons. Unfortunately, most of these masks were lost, taken, or destroyed after 1871. To me it is very important to still create different mask that tell a story to keep this practice strong.

These 4 masks I have created are my interpretation to represent the 4 distinct seasons of the Eastern Torres Strait.
Mask 1. Ziai Kerker Nog – Southwest season mask
This season is a short and variable season, winds start to become cooler, fish become plentiful.
Mask 2. Naiger Kerker Nog – Northeast season mask
During this season fruit are plentiful, Turtle lay egg, sardines are spawning.
Mask 3. Koki Kerker Nog – Northwest season mask
During this season Nam (Turtle) Hatchlings on beaches, plenty of fish in traps, gardens flourish.
Mask 4. Sager Kerker Nog – Southeast season mask
During this season King Fisher returns to the region, fruit blooms.
