Native Rush Dish

A sweet prayer to the native rush and it’s delightful form. This humble plant quietly populates Gumbaynggirr Country in wetland areas and damp, well-watered eco-systems. The curve of her leaves and flowers leave a perfect imprint on the clay, recording her story of survival and deep-rooted, unassuming presence. This piece is a celebration of my joyful wandering over Gumbaynggirr Country where I have come to understand that plants love to be touched, spoken to, picked (with care and respect) and generally adored. This bowl is my loved-up contribution to my wild rush kin.
