Collecting shells has always been one of my favorite pastimes, so when I discovered I could make earrings with shells, I was sold.
I collect the shells from beaches in Biripi and Worimi Country, ensuring I am only taking what I know I will use.

Madison Pitman is a proud Murrwarri women (mukinj) who has strong connections to Biripi Country and its people. She learnt to weave from her mother when she was 10 years old and felt a profound connection to the materials and rhythmic nature of weaving. She explores her culture through painting, basket weaving, string making and earring making.
