Source of life

This artwork is inspired by the Nepean River. The place where I was born. The Nepean gives life to the land. It sustains the plants that grow along its banks, providing them with the moisture needed to flourish. The trees, with their roots reaching deep into the soil, draw nutrients from the earth, while their leaves offer shelter and habitat for countless birds and insects. The river is also home to fish and other aquatic creatures.

Artists Bio

My work is heavily influenced by coastal living and the Birpai Creation stories my grandmother would tell me. My art practice explores the connection that Birpai people have to the land, sea rivers and forest. I love to facilitate creative workshops and share my knowledge of cultural food gathering practices.
