Connecting to your Culture and the Land comes with a lot of joy and pain

The lives of our ancestors resound in our hearts and we see the echoes of their lives as we walk through the land. The sand, the stones and the trees remember them, and although it is beautiful and powerful thing, we yearn to live the proper ways of our people, and every day bearing witness to the contrast of what should be, against what is...against a society disconnected.

Lilly is a Gumbaynggirr Artists from Girrin-da (Corindi Beach), I have strong ancestral ties to the land and ocean, and this is what inspires my art and my work in the arts sector: Nature and connection to Country.
