You, Me and the Whales

When you swim with whales you are reminded of the vastness of the ocean and the depths and mystery of the water around you. You are a being, within a being. The way a whale melts into the distance - a creature so giant that it dwarfs you and yet disappears before your eyes into the surrounding blue - it is as if they are the water. Forever in motion, together they come and go, like ghosts, vanishing and reappearing, sometimes so close you feel as though you could reach out and brush them with your fingertips and yet they are always just out of reach. These photographs invite the viewer into the scene to experience the depth of the ocean and the playfulness of the whales where bodies melt into the blue and curiosity stares back at you.
