The Fire Wisdom exhibition accompanies our month-long 'Cultural Revival Gathering, Celebrating Fire Wisdom'

Drawing inspiration from this year’s NAIDOC theme ‘Keep the Fires Burning: Blak, Loud & Proud’.

Artists share their relationship with the element of fire, including ancestral connections, cultural yarns, personal and historical relationships or cultural burning practices.

The theme of fire can also be translated as transformation, coming through the fire to be reborn and regenerated on a personal or cultural level. It could also be interpreted as keeping the fire burning for cultural survival, strength and revival, including representing the warmth of family, community and connection to Country.
