Saltwater Freshwater is proud to share Stories in Threads, a community-led exhibition born from a two-day Aboriginal Fabric Design Workshop held on Birpai Country at the Birpai Local Aboriginal Land Council in Port Macquarie.

This vibrant and grounding workshop, brought together eighteen community members for a hands-on exploration of natural dyeing and lino printmaking. Facilitated by the talented Belle Arnold (Budden), a proud Wakka Wakka woman and Cultural Practitioner, the workshop created space for cultural connection, storytelling and creative expression.

This exhibition proudly features the printed works and hand-dyed scarves created during the workshop, generously loaned by participants for NAIDOC Week. Their artworks speak to connection - between people, Country and culture - and reflect a powerful moment of community coming together through shared story and creative practice.
