Water is fundamental to our existence. We instinctively seek out water. The gentle tinkle of clear freshwater dancing over smooth river rocks into cool, deep waterholes. The smooth tidal swish of saltwater washing onto rock platforms filling rockpools with a sizzle of foamy bubbles. Water cleanses our bodies, soothes our minds and heals our spirits. This artwork celebrates the dark green depths of the freshwater waterholes of our rivers and streams, and the blue shallow depths of the saltwater rockpools on our rocky coastal platforms.
This artwork is made from unprocessed natural materials some of which have been hand dyed. Variation in colour is normal, natural blemishes and imperfections make the woven patterns unique. Over an extended period of time, natural materials may deteriorate and dye colour may fade. To prolong the life of this artwork and prevent premature deterioration of the natural fibers it is recommended to hang the artwork in a dry interior space, out of direct and reflected sunlight.
