The connection to those that came before and those that are constantly looking over protecting us. The butterfly is a special sign in my life as it always reassures me that I am being guided through life in the right direction. The tree is like a tree of life, our roots can grow as deep as our connection. And our branches extend as the knowledge gets passed down generation to generation.

Kirra-Lee Flanders is 21 years old and a proud Warrimay (Worimi) women who was raised on Warrimay Barray now living on the beautiful country of the Biripi peoples with her partner and son. She started painting at the age of 16 to follow in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother as local artists. Kirra-Lee's style is unique to the coastline and place where she has grown up, she use symbols that were passed down to her as well as having her own style of painting as she has become independent. Kirr-Lee loves painting stories as well as using her art to spread knowledge and awareness to others.
